CAREER EMPLOYMENT AUSTRALIA BOARD MEMBERS

Career Employment Australia is a diverse organisation, with teams delivering programs and services across Australia. Our board members all contribute significant leadership and business management expertise, combined with a deep commitment to the not-for-profit and charity sectors and the communities we serve.

 

Shane Cowan, Executive Chairman.

Shane is Chairman of the Career Employment Australia Board, and also leads the organisation in his general management role. As founder of CEA, Shane contributes nearly 40 years of management experience and is involved on a day-to-day basis with strategic planning and service delivery. His long-term commitment to CEA gives him the deepest possible understanding of and passion for CEA’s mission and purpose.

Jason Gardiner, Director.

Jason is our National Indigenous Programs Manager. His expertise in project development and management has led to the national indigenous programs growing into CEA’s largest division. Jason has worked with CEA for 20 years, and leads teams and programs across Australia, from Perth to Darwin and Adelaide and in regional Queensland.

Sharon Cowan, Director.

Sharon is the Deputy Group Manager, responsible for human resources, CEA’s Registered Training Organisation, and business development. Sharon has worked with CEA for 21 years and is a registered psychologist.

Frank Wilson, Director.

Frank is the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for managing the finance team and all income and expenditure for the group. Frank has worked with CEA for approximately four years. He retired as Assistant Commissioner of Taxation from the Australian Taxation Office after 36 years of service. Frank is a certified practising accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Business in accounting.

Ian Hall, Director.

Ian is retired after a dedicated 22-year career in the not-for-profit sector. He has significant expertise in the management of government-funded contracts and not-for-profit community-based support services. Ian has also been involved in the governance of Southport Yacht Club and the Gold Coast Seniors OnTheNet Association Inc.

David Hatton OAM, Director.

David retired from the Australian Defence Force after a highly decorated career of more than 20 years. He has served as the general manager and business development and strategy executive for CPA Group. David received the Order of Australia Medal for his exceptional leadership, in both the training and operational sectors.

Alice Langford, Director.

Alice is the Manager of CEA’s Greater Brisbane Small Business Advisory Services. She has extensive experience in business, government and community organisations. Alice has served on numerous boards and committees and has expertise in project and contract management and business mentoring.
